《刀剑神域：虚空断章》是由NBGI制作开发的一款动作角色扮演游戏。游戏一开始，主角发现了一片新的未被发现过的区域，名叫“虚无区域”，在那里他将遇到一个神秘的，不知名的少女的袭击。本作的战斗系统将比PSP上的《刀剑神域：无尽时刻》更快，更富动作性。游戏还加入一个躲避系统，帮助主角躲避敌人攻击。
